1. Brief Introduction
The South Lake Innovation Forum for International Young Talents (South Lake Forum), organized by Huazhong Agricultural University, aims to gather outstanding young talents from home and abroad to explore academic frontier, to deepen friendship and to promote exchange and cooperation. Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education. It is on the list of “Double First-Class” university project and will celebrate its 120th anniversary in 2018. HZAU consists of 18 colleges and departments. There are more than 26,000 students, 2600 staff and faculty members, of whom 1500 are full-time faculty. Botany and Zoology is listed among the top 1‰ in the ESI rankings. Six disciplines rank among the top 1% of ESI, including Agricultural Science, Biology & Biochemistry, Molecular Biology & Genetics, Microbiology, Environmental Science/ Ecology and Chemistry. Five disciplines are listed as first-class disciplines, including Biology, Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry, Horticulture & Crop Science, and Agricultural and Forestry Economics & Management. Seven disciplines are listed in Class A in 2017 China Discipline Ranking. The vision of the University is to build a world-famous, research-intensive university with world-class dominant disciplines and distinctive characteristics.
HZAU, located at the Shizishan (Lion Hill) and surrounded by the South Lake in Wuhan of Hubei province, has a vibrant campus of about 5 square kilometers with breathtaking natural beauty. The subtropical climate, abundant vegetation and harmonious environment make the HZAU a beautiful garden rich in flora and oxygen. The living facilities, hospital and gymnasiums are well-equipped and convenient. The kindergarten and affiliated school of HZAU are first-class educational institutions in Wuhan. The campus is adjacent to the Central Ring and subway lines, and surrounded by commercial centers and well-known educational and scientific research institutions. Its convenient transportation and quiet environment make it an ideal place to work and live.

VI. Engineering and Materials Science;
VII. Ecology;
VIII. Landscape Architecture;
IX. Humanities and Social Sciences: Management, Economics, Sociology and Law.
3. Application Requirements
Applicants who hold a doctoral degree from a world prestigious university, and have made outstanding achievements in scientific researches.
The awardees of “1000 Young Talents”, “Yangtze River Young Scholar”, “National Outstanding Youth Science Foundation Award”, “The Top-notch Young Talents” and validly nominated candidates of above programs are welcome.
4. Schedule
March 22: Deadline for online application and C.V. uploading on website: http://211.69.132.91;
March 31: Selection of short-listed participants and issue of invitation letter;
May 11: Registration on forum venue;
May 12-13: Opening ceremony, experts reports, young scholars reports and visits, etc.
5. Travel and Accommodation
Travel (economy class) and accommodation expenses of all invited participants will be compensated. Generous remunerations will be given to participants as well.
